Still Here
What It Takes to Survive When Everything Is Working Against You
Still Here draws together eighteen of my most direct essays on living with CIDP, most first shared here as standalone pieces, now arranged into a single account running from the earliest unexplained symptoms through diagnosis, intensive care, and the long, uneven work of rehabilitation that is still ongoing.
Told with real dates, real hospitals, and the people who carried me through it, this is not a story with a clean ending.
It is a record of what it actually takes to keep going when survival is only the beginning.
Inside the Book
Eighteen essays move from diagnosis through intensive care, rehabilitation, and the slow, uneven work of recovery. Each stands on its own, but together they trace a single arc, what it costs to survive, what it demands, and what it quietly teaches along the way.
Why I Wrote It
I wrote Still Here because survival, on its own, is an incomplete story. This book is the rest of it, the part that happens after the emergency ends and the quieter, longer work begins.
